In short
- Bioparc is open every day of the year, from 10:00 (11:00 on 25 December and 1 January). The closing time changes during the year with the hours of daylight. Last entry is one hour before closing.
- The idea is called zooimmersion: animals and visitors share the same landscape, with no visible barriers. The park has four environments: the African savannah, the African wetlands, the equatorial jungle and the island of Madagascar.
- Tickets have a time slot. You enter from the hour you choose, and you cannot leave and come back without a new ticket. Food and drinks stay outside, except water in a non-glass bottle.
- Short on time? Plan a morning. A full day? The park is made to be enjoyed for as long as you like.
The African savannah
The savannah has a breeding group of southern white rhinos, mountain zebras and ostriches, with hyenas and warthogs nearby. Underground burrows let you see the aardvark and the naked mole rats.
The African wetlands

Here the hippos have an underwater view, and the Nile crocodiles are more than 3 metres long. The elephants live beside a cave inspired by Kitum Cave in Kenya.
The equatorial jungle and Madagascar
The jungle is home to gorillas and chimpanzees, drills, pygmy hippos and spotted-necked otters. The island of Madagascar shows animals found only there: about 80 per cent of the species are endemic.
